here's to you harry potter.

I open at the close...

I've been an obsessive Harry Potter fan for many years now, and it's with a bittersweet sigh that I get ready to attend the final chapter of the final movie this weekend.  Not so different from the night 4 years ago that I waited for the midnight book release of The Deathly Hallows, and in a fit of impulse stayed up all night to finish it - then cried because there was nothing left to read {why yes, thanks.  I am aware that I've dropped the towel on my nerdy side}.  Harry has brought me much joy over the years, and now as his parting gift he has brought me to Heather Bailey... my newest blog discovery and an instant favorite.  Her creativity is off the charts, and these Harry projects she dreamt up are simple and spot on. See below for links, and go make some Butterbeer before showtime.

 Heather's Harry Potter Hoopla links:
1. Bottom's Up, Butterbeer
2. The Three Broomsticks
3. Swish & Flick Wands
4. Lemon Drops & Chocolate Frogs
5. Cockroach Clusters

We are going for date night tomorrow night. My husband has never read the books, so everything that happens is always a surprise for him:)

I know how you feel. If I didn't have years of HP parties to look forward to, I'd be really depressed. Here is the most recent http://www.gumdropsandtruffles.com/?p=576 Our library is having a Potter Party tomorrow including a costume contest. My family aims to win!

Love this! The hubs and I are going to see it tomorrow in 2d during a matinee. As much as we love HP, I couldn't possibly see it last night as I had to be at work at 7:30 this morning! I didn't read the books until they were all out. I borrowed them from my brother-in-law and read them in a total of 8 days. Heh. Love the books. Love the movies. Sad to see it ending, but at the same time, happy to see it all on screen. :-)

xo,
A

I'm completely in love with this idea. You can bet I "pinned" those cute little brooms. Thanks for sharing!

What creative ideas! I wish I would have seen this last week before the premier, but I guess it's not too late for a HP party.

I saw one for drinks with dry ice which was fun too.

Where are those straw mixers from?

Thanks for sharing!
