custom inspiration board: zoo gone girly

6.05.2010
I put together this board for Linette who has a fab little shop on etsy and wanted to create some cute zoo animals as part of the theme for her daughter's birthday. We decided on using a bright combo of pink, green and orange with some animal print and kraft paper accents. It's going to be a 'wild' time!

Theme: Girly Zoo

Party Ideas
Colors: magenta, orange, lime green
Setting: a 2 year old party for parents and kids, best set outdoors in a backyard of park.
Decorations: select a few animals to incorporate throughout (ie: elephant, giraffe, lion, zebra) and use these on the invitations, cupcake toppers and other paper goods. line tables with kraft paper and stencil outlines of animals at each place settings with guests names above. leave a few colored pencils at each place for kids to color their own zoo animal*. use wheat grass for centerpieces and surround with colored wood or stuffed animal figurines. hang animal print paper lanterns above the dessert table and offer color coordinated candy and sweets. Add other girly touches such as feathers, ribbons and flowers to dress up the tables and add extra life to the theme.
Food: select a few animal themed foods as appropriate (ie: elephant=peanuts, monkeys=bananas) and get creative with naming of other items (ie: polar bear punch, pizza with leopard spots)
Favors: fill glassine bags with animal crackers labeled and tied to a colored balloon with ribbon. *also, cut out the paper animal pictures for each child to take home.
