real parties: vintage strawberry shortcake

6.08.2010
I don't typically feature character parties, but this vintage Strawberry Shortcake affair has so many sweet touches that it really caught my eye- especially the fun red, pink and green color palette. Jessica created this party for her daughter's 3rd birthday... she handmade all the adorable party hats and I love that she created 2 different favors... lunch pails for the girls and buckets for the boys. Even the birthday girl fits right in with the decor, done up in a pink, red and green jumper with the hair bows to match!

I love this post. At the age of 34 I still remember loving my strawberry shortcake lunchbox. The metal one that is lol. Oh the joy it brought me.

This party is SO cute! My daughter was talking about wanting a Strawberry Shortcake party but I convinced to do something else because I thought it would be cheezy. Now I wish I would have! Maybe next year :)

Now that is cute! I was so in love with Strawberry Shortcake as a kid. I believe I had the bedding and curtains :) I love that she used the original Strawberry Shortcake. And the birthday girl is too cute!

Awww...Becca!!! I'm so honored that you featured my little pumpkin's birthday party! I, too, have an aversion to character parties so when she requested 'strawberry' I knew I had to be REALLY creative to make it a timeless party. I love that I was able to go with the vintage SS and use the colors as my main inspiration. Thanks again for the feature!
