{last minute} party inspiration: british royal wedding

After weeks of being indifferent about the upcoming Royal Wedding, something bit me yesterday and I finally caught the fever.  I mean, it's kind of a once in a lifetime event right?  So if you're in the same boat as I am and having trouble getting across the pond, Birthday Girl has got you covered... here's just about everything you need to throw together a last minute Royal Wedding viewing party in the comfort of your own living room.

First, head to the kitchen, put on a spot of tea and bake this {recipe below}.

Then, download these...

and this...

and something like this, from here.

Liven things up with a little friendly competition using these.

Once everything is set up the way you like it, get into your pjs {or wake up in your pjs, or spend the day in your pjs}, turn on the TV and cuddle up with one of these...

Okay, so maybe some of you can't do that last part, but lucky for me I happen to have one of the Queen's beloveds {aka Her Royal Highness Scout The Dog} at my beck and call.  Happy wistful wedding watching everyone... cheerio!

Union Jack Flag Fruit Pizza

1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker® sugar cookie mix
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 egg

1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla

4 cups sliced fresh strawberries
3 cups fresh blueberries
1 cup fresh raspberries

1. Heat oven to 350°F. Line 15x10x1-inch or 13x9-inch pan with foil. Spray bottom only of foil with cooking spray. In large bowl, stir cookie mix, butter and egg until soft dough forms. Press evenly in bottom of pan. Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until light golden brown. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.

2. In small bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until fluffy. Spread mixture over cooled crust.

3. Arrange fruit over cream cheese. Refrigerate at least 1 hour until chilled. To serve, cut into 5 rows by 4 rows. Cover and refrigerate any remaining fruit pizza.

Perhaps something to wear to your fabulous "Royal Wedding" party?? I have been so excited about the wedding all week long and it culminated in a Union Jack skirt for my 6-year old. You can see some shots here http://sandrakleist.blogspot.com.

I must make that Union Jack flag pizza. Looks delicious!!

Just found your blog- I too got into the spirit and curled up with my Corgi to watch the festivities. Though he seemed more interested in the roast chicken I made then "the Corgi mother ship" that is the Queen.
