St Patricks Day | Green + Grey Printable Flags

3.11.2013
I love the combination of green & grey this time of year.  It reflects the mood outside... dreary and rainy with the dream of spring around the corner.  I've never been to Ireland, but somehow it feels just about right for an inspired Irish celebration.  So I made some flag toppers... obviously.  Now we can get our party on together. Happy St. Patricks Day!

Sweet Style | Pink + Grey Wedding Desserts

2.07.2012
Leanne of Sweet Style has a way with dessert buffets, and she's done it again with this pink and grey wedding table... an elegant presentation set off by a gorgeous wedding cake.  Of course, these soft muted colors, hearts and other confections would also make for a lovely Valentines day celebration.  Read on below for more...

From Leanne: In December I had the pleasure of putting together a candy table for a lovely couple Gab and Paul.  Gab had decided on a colour theme of soft pink and grey with a hint of hot pink.  The wedding was held at Gunners Barracks in Mosman, Sydney and we were able to use a gorgeous antique table from the venue for the candy buffet.  Both Gab and Paul had children from previous marriages and they were an important part of the celebrations so Gab asked that the kids names be included on the personalised chocolate bars which was such a lovely touch.  As well as 120 adults, there were 30 kids invited to this wedding so we pre-made personalised lolly bags for all the kids so that the candy on the table was left for the big people.  The stunning cake was made by the very clever Jacki from Blissfully Sweet Cakes - it was a four tier cake with butter cream frosting and the most incredible cascading flowers down the side.  Lots of delicious lollies filled the table including lollipops I had made up in custom colours to match the invite and paper goods.

A Modern Baby Shower Brunch

11.17.2011
Seri and Michelle of Little Miss Party in New York sent in this lovely modern baby shower designed for a friend.  They used eye catching details like bold zinc letters and fresh flowers to pull together a color scheme of grey, white and yellow.  I really love the thoughtful personal touches, like chocolate stars in honor of the mom-to-be's maiden name.  Read on below for more...

From Seri: LMP threw the most gorgeous baby shower… and all during the crazy October snow storm! From the beginning planning stages we knew it had to be off the charts classy, sophisticated and modern; just like the mom-to-be. Keeping the colors gender neutral we worked with crisp white, pinstripe gray and lemon yellow.  We worked with Jennifer Owens at Blackberry Graphics to create a pretty and sophisticated invite which set the tone for Rachel’s shower. We used the invite as inspiration to design water bottles, a gift sign and coffee station signs. Everything tied together so beautifully making the shower feel modern yet baby chic. The menu was brunch and mostly vegetarian for our mother-to-be who does not partake in eating meat…so we served up a menu that would be hearty enough for a veg and satisfying enough for a crowd of mingling gals: Strawberry greens with a balsamic vinaigrette, Fruit salad skewers, Veggie & cheese frittatas, French toast bites, Bagels & Lox and Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins along with Sugar Sweet Sunshine yellow cake with buttercream frosting, mini cupcakes and Macarons from Maison du Macaron.  As a guest giveaway we used poodles. Rachel loves poodles and grew up with them in her home. So as a subtle way of adding this cute detail into the shower we had Kristan at Kreated by Kristan make poodle sugar cookies on sticks, individually wrapped and tied with a yellow ribbon. We put them on display with a pretty sign directing guests to take on their way out.
